As an educator and a school librarian, those words really speak to me. I have been fortunate to read several chapters in my “book of life” through my travels, and look forward to the chapters to come. I’ve been whale watching in Seattle, on a Ghost Walk in Paris, explored Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, walked across the famed bridges in Budapest, kissed the Blarney Stone in Ireland, wandered around Stonehenge, cheered the Roman Shakespeare company after a performance in Stratford-Upon-Avon, and had other amazing adventures in those places and many others. I’m passionate about giving clients the opportunity to revel in amazing experiences of their own, both here and abroad, and making memories that last a lifetime.
Favorite Vacation Memory
This is so hard, because I have so many favorites! One of them has to be going to Austria, and seeing all the locations used in The Sound of Music in and around Salzburg. I even have a picture of me in a beautiful field with the mountains in the background, turning in a circle with my arms outstretched, just like the opening scene of the movie. It was such a thrill to see those gorgeous scenes in person.
Best/Favorite Souvenir
One of my favorite parts of traveling is finding unique and meaningful souvenirs so I get to bring a piece of that special place home with me. I definitely take tons of pictures. Ever since I was very young, I have loved stuffed animals. I try to find at least one on every trip. My collection is ever growing, and I can look at each one and tell you where it came from. That brings me much joy. I also look for magnets and tea towels everywhere I go.
Best Vacation I Have Taken
Again, how to choose? At the top of my list would the Children’s Literature Tour to England, Ireland, and Wales, a trip to Ireland with dear friends, and the river cruise up the Danube River from Germany to Budapest. Germany holds my heart, though. I’ve been to Germany three times, and I love every inch of that country. It’s like being in a fairy tale. One of my best friends, Lee, teaches in the American school on the Air Force Base near Frankfurt, so she has taken me all over Germany, Austria, Belgium, and France. I can’t wait to go back!
My Travel Bucket List
*Cruise the Greek Islands
*Italy by Train
*Go to Wimbledon in England or the Australian Open in Sydney (especially if I can see Roger Federer play!)
